Fujian United Benefit Broad Sustainable Building Technology
Fujian United Benefit Broad Sustainable Building Technology Co., Ltd. has been developed by both UBG and Changsha Broad Sustainable Building Technology Co., Ltd. The project is planned to be constructed in Fuan on November 30, 2011, and cover an area of 1.3 million square meters. In November 2010, both UBG and Broad Group have reached an agreement and officially signed the papers in March 2011. After half a year of preparation, the world’s second production base of sustainable building technology has been developed.
Comfortable, safe, healthy, durable, energy efficient, less material waste, recyclable materials, versatile, and centralized are just some of the advantages of sustainable technology. The newly developed steel structure has been praised as the third revolution in the architectural field by Premier Wen Jiabao.
The project will operate by following concepts such as reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions, as well as using recyclable materials. The company will also use a new technology which reduces labor costs by using materials that are easily assembled. Compared to the other construction methods, Broad sustainable technology has 6 main benefits: able to withstand an earthquake of a magnitude of 9 on the seismic scale, 6 times the material savings, 5 times more energy efficient, 20 times cleaner air, 1% of the typical construction waste and quickly assembled with 93% of building produced in factories.
The construction method of sustainable products greatly differs from traditional methods. Similar to large ship and aircraft production, it consists of the 7 following segments: building shape design, customized designs, procurement of materials, production of factory made parts, logistics, and on-site assembly. The standard development cycle of each building that is smaller than 17,000 m2 is an estimated 75 days.
A three phase plan has been scheduled for this project. After the first phase has been developed, four thousand employees are planned to be hired. Once the project is into production, another six thousand employees will be hired. The annual output is expected to reach RMB 30 billion. Such a project will help to drive development.
