China recently signed a deal with kuwait to develop the north of the country as part of its "one belt, one road" initiative that will connect europe to the far east. Kuwait will play a major role in the formation of the new silk road between the east and west. The chinese promised to invest hundreds of billions of dollars in northern kuwait over the next 100 years. There's even talk that china will be allowed to lease two islands in kuwait for 100 years and directly manage and develop them. One of them will be a tourist island and the other will host the largest port in the region.

The chinese did something similar in the maldives a couple of years ago. This is all great news for the silk city project. Anyway, this all points to kuwait's silk city project becoming a reality one day. Also worthy to note that the emir's son, who is currently deputy prime minister, has become very active in the last 12 months and has already restarted the silk city project. A lot of things are being built in kuwait nowadays. For the 1st time in many decades, the construction industry in kuwait has become more active than in qatar, the uae, etc. A lot of infrastructure projects are already underway.

We're also building a new city called "south al mutlaa", which is located halfway between kuwait city and the proposed silk city. People are moving north now. And even though we're building a huge new terminal at kuwait international airport, the government has decided to build a second international airport in the north of the country in 10 years' time. So this tower is going to be built for sure. Just a matter of time, but things are accelerating.
