Gratitude to Hong Kong & Singapore for Inspiring

Hong Kong

The journey of pursuing freedom in mobility through homebuilt helicopters started in documentation form thanks to The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The PolyU business plan competition has inspired me to team up with a student from Myanmar, who I met while having lunch in a cafeteria at The International Islamic University Malaysia where I was enrolled at the time.

Although the plan didn't win the competition, I was able to have documentation which helped me market development of homebuilt helicopter development in the region.

The Peninsula Hotel with Twin Rooftop Helipads at the Twin Tower in Hong Kong along with The Batman & Jackie Chan movies showing incredible scenes showcasing helipads of Hong Kong as well as several helipads, helistops and heliports around it's territory which is quite a lot compared to the area and inspires people to find a way to enjoy their heli development opportunities and fly them around.

However this is where the disconnect starts. There was a Hong Kong student studying in The USA and he was looking for helicopter development plans for his father who worked on underwater / sub sea structure welding and maintenance as far as can be recalled. Links were shared with him to forward to his father. Unfortunantely didn't see or hear of any progress after wards.

Can it be because of Hong Kong's incredibleness in many fields they have become victims of their own success and lost the ability to empower individuals and small groups to make and enjoy their own helos?

Singapore

First time heard about Singapore is when youngest paternal uncle went there for work and returned.

When in High School uncle advised us to apply at National University of Singapore, seemingly due to it's high tech prowess and competitiveness.

Came to know about the wealth and high incomes in Singapore which prompted finding someone from Singapore who could funnel some funding into ultralight helicopter development. Then found a sports teacher who was linked to top educational institution there. While talking about raising funds for helo project,  he seemed to suggest irrelevance of the issue and concluding with saying that he's closing/ restarting his computer.

However the high ranking of Singapore in innovations inspired perseverence to find backers. Checked Nanyang Tech & self driving & electric car development in Singapore but coudn't make any progress. Got disappointed and found out the Island nation has Airbus Helicopters & Bell operating in it's territory as well as ST Engineering has experience participated in the development of EC 120 Colibri Helicopters. Seems that all the copters operating in Singapore is government and military use.

The Ultralight Helicopters FaceBook page got inquiries about possibility of affordable 2 seat helicopter operations in the Island. Seems the Island nation deems it not safe enough despite helipads on several rooftops and a Residence with Robinson Helicopter stationed on the rooftop at 18 Astrid Hill, Bukit Timah.

It was written as a show and symbol of solidarity and Gratitude to:
Hong Kong & Singapore for Inspiring Greatness Persuation.
Thank you and all the people that has assisted in persuit.
